This motorcycle was in fair shape when we began but like many people,
this customer wanted something a little more eye catching. We were asked to come
up with the design but not to get to "crazy" with it. We decided to stay a little more towards
the elegant side of things when coming up with this design. Of course this bike is owned
by one of the biggest fans of the Charmed television series so she wanted
that theme incorporated in to the design. Let the Charmed RR be born.

This motorcycle is a 1999 CBR 900RR. The original color scheme was the black,
orange and white but this was one of the only original pictures I could come up with.
This bike was stripped in order to paint the plastic and do the polishing needed to complete the project. It set in this sad shape for the little while while we took care of the make over.
Some where in transit this bike found
it's self with a broken upper fairing. With
the modifications we were going to make we
decided to simply replace it with an
aftermarket fiberglass version.
Here you can see the new upper
after the original turn signals had been
filled in and the new had been cut.
Before there can be paint there must be primer. This motorcycle didn't need a lot
of body work other than the work done to the upper fairing. There were a couple of
places that were cracked and repaired by plastic welding and a few good coats
of primer. This was in it's final coating.
These are pictures in the yellow
stage of this paint job. The turn signals
were filled with a clear filler then painted
with a more translucent version of this
yellow so the lights behind could shine.
After the yellow was sprayed we laid out our graphics that were to remain yellow.
Soon it was back to the booth to lay the purple base coat and start the task of airbrushing.

Here you can see after the airbrush work
is completed and there are a few coats of
clear spayed. With consent of the customer
we incorporated my signature and the shop
name in with the paint scheme. At this phase
many people would assume this project was
complete but those who know paint know
the job doesn't stop with the final clear coat.

Once the final coats were dry it was
time to sand it smooth as a babies bottom.
Here you can see how the sanding beings it
back to a dull finish but it's ok, it will shine!
Here you can see the front and rear
wheel after they had been bead blasted
and painted purple to match the bike.
Once the paint was cured the lips of
these wheels were brought to a high polish
and wrapped in rubber to be mounted.
The frame, swing arm and top triple
clamp were also stripped and polished
to a mirror finish to bring it all together.

Here we have the finished product.
Pictures do not do this bike justice, it's
one you need and will see on the streets
of Lexington  as a daily driver!
